JAMAICA, Queens (WABC) – An ongoing investigation is taking place after a shooting outside the Amazura nightclub in Queens left 10 people wounded late Wednesday night. Police are searching for three to four suspects who opened fire on a crowd near 144th Place.

Around 11:30 p.m., shots rang out as a private event with approximately 90 attendees was underway inside the venue. The suspects, who fired over 30 shots, targeted individuals gathered outside, injuring six women and four men, aged between 16 and 20.

The scene was chaotic, with more than 30 bullet markers found on the street as the NYPD’s crime scene unit meticulously examined the area. Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera of the NYPD described the incident as a senseless act of violence. “Four males approached the venue, and three to four others began firing more than 30 shots at the crowd outside, hitting multiple victims,” Rivera said. “We have zero tolerance for these kinds of shootings, and those responsible will face justice.”

The suspects fled the scene in a gray Infiniti with out-of-state plates, and while police do not believe the incident was an act of terrorism, they are investigating the possibility of a gang-related motive.

All the victims are expected to recover from their injuries as the investigation continues.
